Based on the 90’s series of Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, the live-action adaptation of the series will begin production in Los Angeles, California 2021 spring.
As part of Disney+'s original films, Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers director is Akiva Schaffer along with Andy Samberg and Jorma Tacoma. Producers David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman joined the crew, who produced The Muppets and Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast. Writers Dan Gregor and Doug Mand.
The original Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers was created by Tad Stones and Alan Zaslove, the series was premiered on The Disney Channel on March 4, 1989, produced by Disney Television Animation (formerly Walt Disney Television Animation). The original voice cast for the Rescue Rangers team was Tress MacNeille (as Chip and Gadget), Corey Burton (as Dale and Zipper), and Jim Cummings (as Monterey Jack).
The series followed Chip and Dale with a detective agency Rescue Rangers. Their friends Gadget Hackwrench, Monterey Jack and Zipper join them along the way. The pint-sized detectives deal with crimes with animals as their clients. The entire original series is available on Disney+ now.
