Hasbro revealed their Haslab crowdfunding project Marvel Legends Sentinel via Fan First Friday Livestream today with 3D renders and comparisons between some favorite Marvel Legends.
The figure was first teased in February 2020 New York Toy Fair during Hasbro Marvel Legends Panel. The second teaser involved the right leg of the sentinel prototype during Hasbro Pulse Marvel Legends Fan First Friday Live Stream on May 22, 2020.
Sentinels were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in the classic X-Men #14 with artists Jay Gavin, Vince Colletta, Wally Wood, and Sam Rosen. “Days of Future Past” story arc is one of the most important storyline in X-Men history, also "The Uncanny X-Men" #141-142 (1981) by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, art by Byrne and Terry Austin.
In Marvel comics (First Appearance in X-Men #14 - November, 1965), the Sentinels were first invented by Dr. Bolivar Trask. The robots were created to protect humanity from mutants, a group which the society saw as an impending threat. There were several design incarnations across TV shows, most noticeably, X-Men: The Animated Series (1992-1997), X-Men: Evolution (2000), Wolverine and the X-Men (2009), Ultimate Spider-Man (2015); Video game like X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009); Movies such as X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).
The Sentinels are massive and possess mechanical strength. They are capable of flying with boot jets, project energy beams from their palms. Their computer unit enables them to detect mutant, then modify their inner structure to match mutant powers and defeat them, improve their abilities after each battle.
