Marvel Entertainment and Square Enix announced a multi-year, multi-game partnership in 2017, leading with the reveal of game working title "The Avengers project".
The main developer Crystal Dynamics will be collaborating with lauded Deus Ex developer Eidos-Montréal to embark on this journey.
Since then, we had further information in 2019 E3. A trailer was released and detailed an overview of the story.

Story Overview (A-Day Gameplay Trailer):
The Avengers celebrated their new headquarter established in San Francisco in A-Day, a public event to promote Avengers on West Coast. An unknown organized group of villains saw this as an opportunity to sabotage the Avengers once and for all. With their well-planned grand scheme, assassins such as the skilled tactician Taskmaster distracted the team and spread out to save civilians.The event caused accidents in the area and a few people were shouldering the responsibility on the Avengers. The government no longer accepted superheroes or vigilante because of the ethical debate "Does the Avengers post a danger in society?". With a 5-year time gap, the game explores the aftermath of the core Avengers. How Kamala Khan (aka Ms Marvel), an avid Avengers fangirl #Reassemble the team and fight against AIM (Advanced Idea Mechanics).

AIM plays a huge role in the story, so as Kamala Khan. Kamala Khan attended A-Day and met Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, Bruce Banner, Iron Man Tony Stark. The SHIELD helicarrier parked during the event contained Terrigen reactor, the Terrigen Crystals from the Kree that can genetically modify Humans' DNA. The infiltration of Taskmaster triggered the unstable Terrigen Crystals reaction, Kamala Khan was exposed to the emitted Terrigen Mist, this activated her Inhuman gene. During the 5-year, AIM captured these Inhumans back to their secret base (As shown in E3 2019 "Marvel's Avengers: Pym Particles" Hank Pym Teaser clip).
Characters First Look
Judging from the official images and gameplay, Captain America's design was inspired by "Secret Wars". Steve Rogers was operating with the West Coast Avengers, a secret Avengers team. The team leader is Clint Barton Hawkeye. While we do not have confirmation on Hawkeye's appearance in the game yet, a recent image (see below) on the official Twitter page includes this Avenger in a photo. Captain Marvel is also featured in the image since Kamala Khan is a huge fan.

Marvel Gamerverse
Speaking of the West Coast Avengers, this game was heavily teased in Insomniac Games' "Marvel's Spider-Man". In one of the collectible items, as soon as Spidey snapped a photo of the Avengers headquarter, he talked about the new location of the headquarter — West Coast. Not to mention that San Francisco is on the West Coast. On the other hand, AIM funded Dr Otto Octavius (Doc Ock) in the game.To gather more evidence, Taskmaster was also presented in Marvel's Spider-Man. Despite he had a different outfit, he mentioned several references to his combat with Avengers. The fact that he was older in the game, this suggested that Marvel's Spider-Man may take place during the 5-year. Taskmaster attacked the Avengers in A-Day, 3 years earlier than the event in Marvel's Spider-Man. During E3 2019, the display in the Marvel's Avengers demo booth featured the four Avengers iconic gears. The monitor footage indicates the date of A-Day June 11, 2015, while Marvel's Spider-Man is confirmed to be set in 2018. 2020 is the year of the launch of Marvel's Avengers and when it takes place.
Both games companies have not commented regarding the connection between the two games, but the existence of Marvel Gamerverse certainly suggests this idea.

Dive into Marvel's 80 Years History of Superheroes and Villains
Crystal promised fans that more characters to come in the game. From the first trailer, we see Hulk faces off against The Abomination; Black Widow went toe-to-toe with Super-Adaptoid. The E3 2019 also teased a giant at the end of the trailer, it could be Kree Sentry or Super-Adaptoid. We'll have to wait and see on September 4, 2020!

Game Accessibility of all gamers
Accessibility has been the companies priority concern over the course of the development. When physically-disadvantaged and blind players can access and complete the game, this will not only successfully satisfy the need of these gamers, but also set a new standard in the game industry to emphasize and improve on their game mechanics, reinforce developers to cater for a wider group of players. Crystal Dynamics received it’s APXP certification last year and facilitate the team on designing accessibility. Functions such as high contrast user interface, easier navigation for low-vision users, fully remappable controls, character-associated subtitles, campaign-relevant closed captions and HARM Training Rooms. Update before WAR TABLE Stream: Good News for PS4 players! Marvel's Avengers PS5 Free upgrade
According to Gary Snethen on PlayStation Blog, Chief Technology Officer in Crystal Dynamics, he announced that players who purchased the PS4 version of the game would be able to upgrade to PS5 for FREE. PS5 will be launched in later 2020 with an anticipated title Marvel's Spider-Man Miles Morales. Again, the enhancements will leverage the PS5 advanced capability, this includes the DualSense controller's advanced haptics and resistance triggers, the console's enhanced 3D audio, 4K 60fps framerate mode and instant loading content under optimization.
