Pixar’s Lamp Life - A Disney Plus ‘Toy Story’ Short Review [No Spoiler]

Have you ever wondered what happened to Bo Peep between Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 4? Yes, we all do and let's straight into the Lamp Life short.  Written and directed by Valerie LaPointe, produced by Marc Sondheimer.  Tom Hanks’s brother Jim Hanks voiced "Woody" in the short.

A little adventure of the scrappy porcelain figure Bo Peep.  Bo Peep played a major role in Toy Story 4 and the transformation of her portrayal.  Story artist, Carrie Hobson and the production team managed to pull this off while maintaining her original personality as the center.  Woody and Bo Peep shares a strong connection that we would not have thought of.  If you recall from the fourth installment, Bo Peep returned to the antique store just because of her care to Woody.

The short can be described as a prologue to Toy Story 4.  It gave us vignettes from her missing years that fans keen to learn more about.  In Lamp Life, the creators joked about the detachable bedside lamp that came with Bo Peep.  This, ultimately, becomes the key component of the short.  The transformation of her required more than just a flip of her skirt cape.  The short gave us a bedtime story perspective, the storytelling of Bo Peep struggles and desire to explore.  Bo Peep went through trails and finally decided to pursue a different life.  With her experience, this formed the foundation of her persona in Toy Story 4.  She enjoyed playtime with kids and see more around the world.  Her way of thinking intrigues the audience to resonate with daily matters.  I believe that this story connects with long-time Toy Story Fans and new audience.  This is a fun short to watch and laugh with your family.
