Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway
The first Mickey Mouse-based attraction in the world will open on March 4 2020. Disney has posted a video today to look inside Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway as training gets underway for the attraction's opening team.

"the ride implements a breakthrough technology to transform a two-dimensional cartoon into an amazing real-world experience.”
92 years Mickey
The ride pays homage to the 92 years of Mickey. His connection with each generation throughout Disney history, to which we should go back to where it all began - Steamboat Willie.
The Chinese Theatre will serve as the magic portal to an unforgettable 2D cartoon world (Official Disney technology name: 2½-D Technology). Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway invites Guests to zip away on a zany adventure through a cartoon universe crammed with surprises.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will feature a new story and a new singable attraction theme song as well as a new experience we’re calling “2 1/2 D.” No glasses required. Walt Disney Imagineer Kevin Rafferty said teams are inventing new technologies that turn the flat world of a colorful cartoon short into a “dimensional display of amazingness.”
“This is one of the boldest…most impossible things I’ve ever worked on in almost 40 years of being an Imagineer. And you know what? That’s what I love about it. Well, that, and Mickey,” Kevin said. “This is not going to be a small attraction, it’s going to be game-changing.”
Original Theme Song and Music
Songs are being produced digitally. Imagineers work at Disney Studio, record real-life sounds from props to refine the old-school classic sound effects.
Chris Willis from the Mickey shorts is composing the music for the ride. He mentioned that a 65-piece orchestra is included as part of the score, with the help of Disney Legend Richard Sherman to take this into another level.
A team of developers is also working alongside with the Mickey Shorts' creators to make the experience as authentic as possible.
An enjoyable and exciting ride
From the official descriptions, guests travel through a tunnel with Goofy on the side. A “Stampede scene” followed by the “Carnival Chaos”. Once guests enter the “Twister.”, cars will be spinning around. “Tropical Torrent”, “Over the Falls.” and guests will be sent over the waterfalls ahead. The countryside, “Culvert”, “Big City Snarl” and “Dance Studio Detour” will be interesting to see. This leads to the climax of the ride “Turnback Alley” in “Factory Frenzy.”
Date, time, location and future of the ride
The themed-ride will also open in Disneyland Park Mickey’s Toontown 2022. Based on the latest information, the ride will be the same as this Hollywood Studios.
There is no official information on any soft-opening. Stay tuned for the rider previews a few weeks before the launch this month.
