曾為 迪士尼《美女與野獸》、《獅子王》及《愛麗絲夢遊仙境》撰寫劇本的 Linda Woolverton 在今集繼續擔任編劇一職。她以嶄新的手法和角度，延續了奇幻仙境的歷險故事，角色設計更加立體鮮明。
Linda Woolverton (“Beauty and the Beast,” “The Lion King”) had been working on a follow-up to her “Alice in Wonderland” screenplay, and soon delivered a clever script which continued the adventures of Lewis Carroll’s vibrant characters and infused them with imagination and heart. Linda had written a new story told through the prism of the book about the characters and what had happened since we last saw them, as well as what happened to them in the past.

今集新登場的角色「時間」（“Time”），由喜劇紅星「波叔」沙格畢朗高漢 擔演。半人半機械的時間，深居於黑暗的永恆城堡中，並擁有一個掌控了宇宙間所有時間的「萬物之鐘」魔法球。這個以金屬製造又閃閃發光的旋轉魔法球，其實是一部時光機，能夠帶人回到過去。
For the role of Time, a magical being who holds court on a black throne in a castle of eternity, Sacha Baron Cohen was at the top of everyone’s list. With one human hand and one mechanical hand, Time is the keeper of the Chronosphere, a glowing, spinning, metallic sphere inside the chamber of the Grand Clock that powers all time. If removed from the clock, the Chronosphere allows its bearer to travel the Oceans of Time to the past. The actor had worked with Bobin in the past, and when sent the script understood exactly what the producers were striving for and was up for the challenge creatively.

導演 占士保賓（James Bobin）自言一向對時光倒流及改變歷史的命題都非常着迷，而他認為今次劇本把「時間」這個概念人物化，是非常大膽創新的設計。占士保賓 解釋：「對自小喪父的 愛麗絲 來說，『時間』是邪惡的不祥物，因為它帶走了最愛的爸爸！今集 愛麗絲 穿越時空，回到過去展開一段冒險之旅，將明白時間並不是敵人，而是她要珍惜的東西。」
Film Director James Bobin has always been intrigued by the concept of time and changing the past, as well as all the questions it posed, which happened to fit perfectly within the framework of Woolverton’s story. The screenwriter soon turned in a new draft with Time as an actual character. “The passage of time is something Alice has always regarded as a bad thing, because time took her father from her at a very early age,” says Bobin. “What she learns in this story is that time isn’t her enemy but is something that can be appreciated.”

《孤星淚》金像女星安妮夏菲維（Anne Hathaway）將繼續飾演「白皇后」。美麗的「白皇后」，是惡毒的「紅皇后」的妹妹，一直給人嬌柔、善良的感覺。然而，來到今集，「白皇后」將有意想不到的轉變！「白皇后」並不完美。某程度，她身上流着跟其姊同樣邪惡的血，只不過她一直努力抑壓着這些邪惡的念頭。
Anne Hathaway (“Les Miserables,” “The Devil Wears Prada”) returns as Mirana, the mild mannered and kind White Queen and beautiful younger sister to the spiteful Red Queen. Mirana is not all that perfect. She has some of her sister’s darkness in her veins but she keeps it very repressed. She is still on the good side.
